What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineering Intern position at Zanbato?
Learn something every day building real products for real users
What you will learn:
- How our product development process works from inception to deployment
- How to write quality, performant, well-tested code in Python/Django and ES6/React
- How to collaborate with other engineers over code review and discussion
What you will do:
There are no intern projects. We treat you like full-time engineers and get you onboarded as quickly as possible.
- Ship code to users in your first week and every week after
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineers on projects small and large
- Take ownership and lead your own project within 8 weeks
Examples of past intern work include:
- Architecting the backend database schema and designing the REST API for our trading platform
- Implementing the redesign and refactor of our entire investment search page in a reactive framework with front-end routing and browser history
- Building a process for users to upload and unpack zip files and replicate the folder structure in our database
Benefits & opportunities:
- Autonomy - Work autonomously to set your own timeline, architecture, and task breakdown
- Mentorship - Meet with mentors one on one to develop technical and non-technical skills
- 10% Time - Every other Monday, utilize your curiosity to develop your technical skills on personal projects
- Snack - We're not unique here but we love our coffee and snacks and we've got you covered
What we are looking for:
- Motivated individuals looking for industry experience and to develop their technical skills
- People with a foundational understanding of software engineering
- Curiosity for technologies, concepts, and practices
- Individuals who enjoy collaborating with roles outside of engineering
What are our goals:
We think it should be just as easy to trade in private companies as it is in public companies. Many believe that startup employee equity is only worth something if the company IPOs or is acquired. However, with a robust, centralized, efficient market to trade in private companies, that equity becomes liquid and is valuable from the day it vests. We are building that market for stockholders and institutional investors, and we could use your help doing it.
Other Details
