DEFINITION
The Head of Media leads all paid media investment across marketing channels. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer, this newly created position is responsible for building media operations and capability at Zaxbys.
This role is critical to build an effective and efficient demand generation calendar, including over $60M in paid media investment across National and Co-Op marketing funds. This person will work collaboratively with the Calendar and Advertising teams to create the annual media plan.

Receives direction from and reports directly to: Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer
Exercises supervision over: Sr. Manager, Digital Media
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Own relationship with external Media Agency

Strategic planning for annual paid media plan

Specific channel plans, including TV, OTT, social, digital and 3rd Party platforms

Delivering digital-first media plans, including cost and performance management
-
On-going media plan measurement and optimization
-
Modeling new media support models, including National rate & Co-op allocations

Joint business plans (JBPs) with key media partners
-
Integrating National and Co-Op plans, including partnerships with local co-ops to build customized plans based on best practices

Evaluating strategic sponsorships
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience leading a media organization in retail/QSR

Agency experience in strategic planning or buying

Detailed knowledge of programmatic media buying, including performance marketing using first party data & loyalty programs

Understanding of key metrics: ROI, sufficiency, cross channels reach & frequency management, traffic, share of voice

Consumer-inspired media planning: focus on generating sufficient media weights at points of consumer receptivity

Data driven decision making: ability to leverage data & experience to test new media support models for a growing business

Balancing strategic thinking & operational details: agile learner that can set direction, while also being involved in planning/execution

Challenger mindset: this role is responsible for developing plans that outperform competitors with larger budgets

Effective presentation skills: exceptional written & verbal communication to inform and influence to audiences ranging from working teams to the Corporate Board of Directors
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field, MBA preferred
Experience: 8 years of related work experience
