What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Buyer position at Zazzle?
Zazzle is looking for a spreadsheet wizard, analytical ninja, someone who has proven success working independently and who is self-motivated by excellence.
The role of the Jr Buyer is to manage assigned inventory products for our Reno manufacturing facility, manage supplier relationships, ensure best pricing, and gather data to ultimately improve the bottom line. The position requires the ability to communicate directly with suppliers, provide accurate purchasing projections, and accurate placement of PO’s.
Responsibilities would include…
- Provide forecasts to suppliers
- Ensuring pricing and products are consistent.
- Continuous negotiation and follow through on pricing while providing analysis on savings or potential price increases.
- Coordinate and manage communications with internal teams.
- Manage YoY spend, provide details of spend numbers, and use data to help guide decisions on pricing negotiations.
Required Experiences:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience required in purchasing or related position.
- Knowledge of purchasing best practices.
- Impact Pricing: Knows the importance of negotiating and ensuring best pricing.
- Ability to provide forecasts to ensure product availability.
- Track record of successful sku management and price negotiations.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills including ability to provide accurate data.
- Proven ability to manage projects through completion with minimal needed direction.
- Clear, consistent, and ongoing verbal and written communication with key internal contacts (Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, Platform, Marketing, others company partners) to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate changes across all levels of the company.
- Able to multitask, work in a fast pace environment, as well as switch tasks at a moment’s notice.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
