Yard and Inventory Manager

Job Description

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Yard and Inventory Manager for our facilities located in Chandler, AZ. Reporting to the Director of Logistics and Scheduling, this candidate will manage all completed modular inventory that is preparing to be shipped to the designated project location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily collaboration with plant/production manager on production status and requirements for manpower for resource planning
• Create and maintain yard storage strategies for both on and off campus
• Collaboration with Logistics team for storage at offsite locations
• Updating yard storage map locations of modules physical location
• Coordinate with Yard lead hand on manpower requirements and allocation of personal based on shipping and receiving needs
• Ensure that all teammates are properly equipped for tasks
• Daily inspection on wrap integrity and water intrusion. All modules must be inspected, and thoroughly inspected after inclement weather.
• Ensuring that cribbing isn’t comprised in any way, that can cause damage to module or injure employees.
• Daily review of humidity control monitors to ensure they are within range of acceptance
• Implementing a monitoring/ replacement protocol for desiccants bags
• Verification of Modules and proper locations in ERP system
• Conducting daily cycle counts to ensure storage is noted correctly in system
• Photo document all outbound loads during and after loading completed/secured and upload into ERP and/or SharePoint system
• Collection and disbursement of shipping and receiving documents
• Update stakeholders on any adjustments to shipment/delivery schedules Ex. delayed loading or arrival
• Conducting weekly checks on all mechanical equipment, scheduling and tracking maintenance as required
• Communicating and ordering tools and supplies
• Tracking and maintaining all electronic devices (scan guns, tables, radios etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 software an asset
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn quickly 
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong problem solving, analytical, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills
• Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities
• Must be able to work independently and quicky adjust to a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
• Knowledge of ERP systems and Dynamics365 preferred
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
• Must be able to lift 60lbs.
• Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing yard location
• This position will be performed outside 70% of the time
• Other physical requirements as needed for job
