Position Description
ZemiTek is seeking a Contract Specialist to provide support to the corporate office in the management and administration of contracts.
Location: Bethesda, MD
Work Schedule: Remote/Hybrid
Starting Salary: Salary range starting at $100,000 (salary commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities
- Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and subcontracts.
- Draft and track teaming agreements.
- Draft contract documents including budgets and memos necessary to execute subcontracts and contract modifications; create, prepare, review, and edit subcontracts to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor contracts and subcontracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what’s best for the company.
- Track and monitor upcoming contractual actions and deadlines.
- Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and up to date.
- Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
- Contribute to the resolution of contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
- Research, analyze, review, and provide advice and guidance on all applicable policies and regulations.
- Identify potential improvements to existing policies.
- Analyze contracts to ensure the company complies with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Conducts special projects as assigned.
- Reviews new contracts to ensure all necessary clauses have been included.
- Monitors contractor performance for compliance with applicable laws, delivery schedules, payment provisions, contract data reporting requirements, and other contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 6 years prior experience in a contract administration role.
- Exemplifies knowledge of contract law.
- Understanding of FAR and DFAR is required.
- Knowledge of ADS and AIDAR is preferred.
- Has strong negotiation and mediation skills.
- Possess superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Should exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must have excellent analytical thinking skills, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology.
- Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team.
- Exemplify strong attention to detail.
- Possess superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
- Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and G Suite.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Capable of professionally managing confidential information.
