Job Description

Zendesk for Startups is a business initiative at Zendesk passionate about helping startups drive growth and prepare for scale by crafting outstanding customer experiences with Zendesk products.

As an Account Executive for Startups, you’ll be joining a small and agile team responsible for attracting Startup companies to use our program and helping drive adoption during it. This role is new in the region and will require partnership from internal collaborators with support from our cross-functional Startups team.

As part of your responsibilities, you will evangelise our program, attract new and emerging startups to our program through outbound, advocate for startups within our broader teams. Connect founders and CX leaders within our community and help to mature our exciting startup ecosystem.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with sales, coming from an inbound sales department in a tech space or a closing sales role. Ideally, they will have worked in a startup environment or have had a startup focus in another role. An understanding of the Venture Capital, Accelerators etc, will be a benefit.

Responsibilities
  • Exceed pipeline and revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly basis
  • Work very closely with a portfolio of Startup accounts with a strategic plan to attract them to apply to our free program and enable CX within their organization
  • Be willing to learn our product and service offerings to become a guide for our customers
  • Help connect with our Startup customers to highlight opportunities for them to get involved in events, podcasts etc
  • Generate high-value pipeline through both strategic and targeted prospecting into start-ups and unique businesses
  • Collaborate with other Account Executives across our product lines to prioritize opportunities and apply appropriate resources
  • Be motivated to overachieve on targets and critical metrics
  • Be the face of the brand, 100% focussed on building an outstanding customer experience
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
  • Experience selling to founders, entrepreneurs and owners in a Startup environment
  • 1 years of software selling experience; SaaS experience preferred
  • 1 years outbound prospecting experience a plus!
  • Track record of success selling into SMB companies
  • Technically savvy; detailed understanding of a related technology (CRM, SFA, Support Software, SaaS)
  • Proficiency using CRM (Base CRM, Pipedrive, Copper, Salesforce.com, Dynamics, etc.)
  • Skilled in discovery, presentations, presentations, online web demos, remote sales processes
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
