Develop full-scale project plans including project artifacts as appropriate to the size and scope of the project.
Identify and manage project dependencies, budgets, and critical path.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation, and presentations.
Work with project stakeholders to identify and manage project risks and issues, maintain risks and issue logs, and work with stakeholders on solutions or mitigation plans.
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
Define project scope through collaboration with stakeholders, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
Translate business needs into detailed business requirements and critical success factor to achieve the goals of the project and meeting business needs.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Performs related work as required.
Work assignments will be focused on Public Utility functions within the City of Cedar Rapids to include Water, Waste Pollution Control, Garbage &Recycling, and Sewer.
Representative projects may include, but not be limited to, Enterprise Reporting system upgrade, billing and finance systems upgrade, data analytics implementation, server upgrades, and security solutions.
Minimum qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field and
Five (5) years of work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of process development and execution.
Experience developing and managing detailed Project work plan, Work Breakdown Structure, and resource allocation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
Required Licenses or Certifications
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification or ability to achieve it within 2 years.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to achieve it within two (2) years.
