Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 40 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include child & adolescent psychiatric, medical, substance abuse, residential, and therapy services, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center is also partnered with NHA to provide medical services to patients making access to care easier for them.

We are currently seeking a full- time LPN to work in our inpatient detox unit This position is responsible for the medical management of all residential patients, including ensuring compliance with all established standards, policies and procedures. This individual must be awake, alert, and attentive to meet the significant needs of our patient population. Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Review files of any admissions from previous shift with attention to any medical issues, medical documentation, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Review all Shift Report from last time worked and ensure follow-up of any noted medical issues.
- Complete vital signs on all patients as policy and prudent judgment indicates.
- Observe, detect, and monitor symptoms of withdrawal, providing patient reassurance and support, ensuring appropriate follow-up and documentation in patient files and Shift Report. This will include observation for physiological withdrawal symptoms including seizures and convulsions.
- Provide medications as indicated by completed MAR's, and ensure appropriate documentation.
- Ensure medications are available and provided to upcoming shifts for distribution to patient.
- Document medical information appropriately in patient records and shift report according to established policies
- Evaluate applicants and patients to ensure appropriate decision making, disposition, follow-up, and, in general, ensuring compliance with the established protocol criteria, Residential Subacute Detoxification and short-term Rehabilitation admission, continued stay and Discharge/Transfer.
- Assist the Medical Director/Physicians in arranging and completing physical examinations and provide the necessary follow-up.
- Provide assistance to incoming shift, ensuring all pertinent medical information is given.
- Review files of all patients discharged to ensure compliance with established protocols, medical policies and procedures, and files are appropriately documented.
- Contact Medical Services Manager or Medical Director as appropriates for reviews of medications for approval, or other issues requiring medical consultation or direction.
- Ensure appropriate referral services for patients/applicants to a hospital for necessary medical services, as prudently indicated.
Work Hours: 36 hours a week or three 12 hour shifts rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday), Rotating holidays
Requirements
- A current Ohio LPN license
- 3 years of experience in a psychiatric and/or detox setting
- 2 years of medical experience
- Must have a working knowledge of Chemical Dependency; including the addictive process, withdrawal, and the recovery process
