Payroll Accountant
- Responsible for the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of semi-monthly payroll for over 375 US employees, ensure paychecks are correct and delivered on time
- Review and update payroll profiles for employee changes, new hires and terminations
- Manage employees’ PTO balances and maintained reconciliation on a monthly and quarterly basis of employees’ accrual
- Generate and distribute required internal payroll reports on a scheduled basis (semi-monthly, quarter end), and prepare information for external audits.
- Review and reconcile 401(k), HSA, FSA and other benefit reporting.
- Submitting State required Department of Labor Statistical report
- Maintain benefit reconciliation procedures to ensure all benefit invoices match to our active benefit enrollments for payments
- Maintain knowledge of federal and state payroll legislation and all laws impacting payroll
- Primary contact for employees’ payroll questions and issues.
- Assist the preparation of year-end reports and W2 forms
- Adherence to federal, state and local tax laws, and resolves state payroll tax filing/registration matters
- Create and record journal entries to the general ledger. (NetSuite)
- Assist with other assignments as directed by the Accounting Manager and Senior Payroll Accountant, including quarter and year-end close process
Requirements:
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Multi- State Experience required
- Accounting experience required
- Payroll Tax knowledge a plus
- ADP experience required
- Analytical skills a plus
- Proficient in Excel
- Thorough, responsible, proactive, team player, good interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently
- Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills are essential
- High attention to detail and a proven ability to work and focus in a fast-paced, results based, and quality service environment.
