Job Summary:
The Production Planner will execute production and inventory plans in support of company goals and management directives. The Planner will help speed the flow of material and help ensure that the right material is at the right place, in the right quantity, with the right quality and at the lowest possible cost.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- On daily basis, maintain/update planning reports for Shop, Assembly and Packaging areas.
- Use planning reports along with management inventory goals to authorize the manufacture of products via work orders.
- Work with shop personnel to ensure timely execution of work orders and address any issues constricting the process or timeline.
- Serve as Liaison between all departments regarding product availability and/or process completion dates.
- Generate reports for Management.
- Mentor and assist shop floor personnel with prioritization of work orders.
- Follow up with QA/QC to ensure prompt disposition of suspended materials and/or material receipts from suppliers or shop floor.
- Work with Quality to correct BOMs and update item revisions.
- Perform other production and inventory planning related activities as deemed necessary by Management.
- Adhere to all company policies and help maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- APICS certification courses a plus. APICS certification preferred.
- Three years related planning experience in a fully integrated manufacturing facility.
- GMP, Medical Devices a plus.
- Job Shop environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRPII/MRP planning systems (Made2Manage experience a plus).
- Intermediate to Advance Excel skills.
- Formulas
- Pivot tables
- Conditional formatting.
- Ability to work with multi-functional departments located in separate facilities.
- Self-starter and proactive.
- Must be detail oriented and analytically inclined.
- Good communication skills. Verbal and written

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually. Ability to stand, walk and reach frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Close vision required to use microscope, read documents, and operate machine. Distance vision required to drive an automobile, if driving is a requirement of the job.
- Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- Moderate noise levels as found in a light industrial environment, office environment, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
