About the Team: The Insurance Management department at ZF Friedrichshafen AG (FFRI) ensures worldwide insurance coverage for the ZF Group. This involves central control, coordination, and oversight of insurance concepts, avoiding duplicate coverage and following consistent claims procedures. FFRI shapes the global insurance strategy and collaborates closely with the company’s captive insurance entity, Fortuna. The team, based in Friedrichshafen, consists of a leader and six team members, fostering teamwork, cooperation, and cross-functional collaboration across various departments within the organization. Success hinges on open communication and a willingness to think beyond conventional boundaries.
What you can look forward to as a Risk Management Analyst:
- Workers’ Compensation
- Support with the organization of meetings (e.g., broker, insurer, claims, captive board meetings etc.).. Provide information to different stakeholders (e.g., broker, auditor, insurer, FFRI)
- Participate in claim review meetings and manage follow-up action items.
- Point of contact to the broker (e.g., provide authority to broker to bind coverage, etc.)
- Monthly loss billing to Captive Fortuna/insurer. Director of the Captive
- Point of contact for other claims issues and data needed, including directing legal suit filings to appropriate claim adjuster
- Support with allocation/invoicing of insurance premium
- Interface with regulators; submit annual required documentation; arrange for payment of required fees/assessments
- Manage Ohio self-insurance status with Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC); complete annual renewal application and other periodic reporting; manage claims communication
- Collection of renewal payroll exposure data to support insurance renewals. Coordinate annual Travelers payroll audit data collection
Your Profile as a Risk Management Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- At least 3 years of experience with an insurance carrier, broker or corporate risk management team
- Understand (re-) insurance contracts and products (terminology, terms and conditions
- Captive knowledge
- Ability to communicate across multiple functions of the organization
- Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills
- Familiarity working with Risk Management Information Systems, implementation and data integrity and the use of systems for data management and reporting
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment while also establishing work priorities and managing time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
