Position Summary: The HSE Specialist will assist the HSSE Manager in maintaining environmental and safety compliance throughout the facility through program development, training, auditing, and driving continuous improvement
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist and support the HSSE Supervisor/Manager with the development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures for compliance with HSSE requirements of the company and regulatory agencies (local, state/provincial and national).
- Support site with achievement of HSSE objectives and targets.
- Support in the recognition, evaluation and control of work processes with potential hazard/risk exposures relative to safety and the environment.
- Act as security coordinator - establish and maintain security programs that contain significant and potential security risks.
- Provide guidance/support/assistance to the Human Resources Function in relation to their administration of the site’s First-Aid Responder, Personal Protective Equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.) and Workers Compensation programs (USA Operations).
- Conduct health/safety programs promoting employee wellness
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years of related experience
- Working knowledge of EPA and/or OSHA regulations and all other regulatory governance.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to effectively interface with internal and external personnel
- Strong MS Office experience (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
