We are seeking a Senior Manager, Risk Management and Insurance to drive the evolution of the Risk Management function for Zillow as we lead the way in transforming Real Estate. You will join a fast-paced, dynamic team uniquely focused on all aspects of Zillow’s corporate insurance program, as well as the seamless introduction of embedded insurance products to simplify the renting and home buying experience for Zillow’s customers. Zillow is seeking a strategic, highly accountable Senior Manager, Risk Management and Insurance to join our team. You will work across Zillow’s business functions, including the rapidly growing Zillow Home Loans, Premier Agent, Zillow Closing Services, Zillow Insurance Services, and greater ZG businesses, as well as Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Development and other Zillow Group corporate functions, to expedite delivery of our Risk Management roadmap, which includes both value protection and value enablement strategies. You Will:
- Effectively manage cross-functional relationships with key business partners to understand business strategies and exposures and co-develop embedded insurance products and services
- Coordinate the efforts of internal and external risk management and risk transfer resources, including insurers, brokers and other service providers, to manage cost and drive operational efficiencies
- Ensure cost-effective, appropriately structured risk transfer vehicles in compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations – including credit facilities; lead efforts to explore and develop captive insurance vehicles and other means of risk mitigation and expense control
- Oversee the development and operations of a Captive Insurance entity.
- Lead the development of reporting and analytics to ensure visibility on Zillow’s total cost of risk
- Partner effectively with other members of the Risk Management team (Enterprise Risk Management, Business Resiliency, Security, Program Management) to deliver team-wide objectives and key results
Who you are
You have:
- 10 years progressive risk and insurance experience, which may include corporate risk management, insurance underwriting leadership and/or scaling a startup insurance enterprise
- Deep subject matter expertise on all lines of insurance coverage and risk management information systems
- Working knowledge of self-insured risk models and captive insurance companies, including third party insurance products offered through an in-house agency and/or captive
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive with ambiguity balanced by a strong attention to detail
- Extensive and proven experience building and scaling insurance programs
- Superior project management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands and perform under pressure to meet or exceed deadlines
