Electrical Systems Engineer

Merritt Island, FL

 

Description

Support the NASA Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Services 3 (ELVIS 3) contract as part of the ZIN Technologies team in a wide range of assignments, including the assessments of analytical and/or systems engineering items throughout the life cycle for each NASA ELV mission and build cycle for each NASA vehicle and associated payload/spacecraft. Launch Vehicle systems of primary responsibility will be Electrical Controls, FTS and GPS Avionics.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess analytical and/or systems engineering items throughout the life cycle for each NASA ELV mission and build cycle for each NASA vehicle and associated payload/spacecraft.
  • Launch Vehicle systems of primary responsibility will be Electrical Controls, FTS and GPS Avionics.
  • Perform reviews of Launch Vehicle Hardware documents
  • Perform technical assessments of relevant issues that arise during the build, test & vehicle integration process.
  • Evaluate issues with concise documentation of the issue as well as independent analysis and recommendations on how to resolve the issue.
  • Communicate closely with both the NASA engineering and management teams, as well as Launch Vehicle Contractor (LVC) engineers.
  • Represent NASA during LVC design reviews, test plan reviews and test performance, along with completing post-test data reviews & assessments of assigned hardware.
  • Participate in mission integration meetings and NASA readiness reviews where required.
  • Clearly and concisely document technical assessments and recommendations and present all findings and concerns to fellow engineers and when necessary, at NASA Engineering Review Boards.

 

Requirements

  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Five or more years of experience in an engineering environment performing
  • Basic programing skills.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel as required.
  • Able to obtain National Agency Clearance (NAC) status.

 

Preferences

  • 10 years of equivalent experience
  • Knowledge in Launch Vehicle electrical systems (with emphasis on Electrical controls, FTS and GPS).
