We are seeking an Operational Analysts for the Ames, Iowa office location.
Ideal candidates will have these skills and experience :
- Responsible to work with various business users to review and analyze operational and business data, programs, processes, procedures, systems and make recommendations for improvements and changes to drive business performance.
- Perform business and operational analysis to impact business results and support management decision making.
- Performs and participates in the analysis, design and implementation of operational business processes and procedures. Presents and shares data with other team members and departments.
- Investigates and understands diverse areas of the business and operation, supporting initiatives and communicates findings.
- Responsible for creating and monitoring reports to identify trends, issues and opportunities.
- Responsible for issue and root cause analysis.
- Using business data to formulate proposals for new procedures and/ or processes.
- Acts as a liaison with subsidiary management and staff to resolve issues as needed.
- Performs project management functions.
- Requires a bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field and some experience in business and data analysis, processes, procedures, multiple technologies, etc. or other directly related experience.
- Experience SQL, Excel, and/or other business intelligence and analytics software and query tools. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis, business process and procedure improvement, systems and project techniques. Knowledge of department specific processes and procedures.
- Requires solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to elicit, gather and analysis user needs. Good presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to function in a consultative role and manage a team or project.
- Requires solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
- Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of query tools such as Business Objects, Microsoft Access or other tools to extract information from databases.
- Working knowledge of report writing software.
