The Opportunity
Zitron USA is a growing ventilation fan design and manufacturing company, specializing in ventilation systems for the mining and road tunnel sectors. The company is based in West Virginia. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join the fast-growing American branch of an international group that is a global leader in ventilation for underground mines, road and railway tunnels, and metro systems.
The company is part of a group that operates in over 80 countries across 5 continents. In the United States, the company has supplied ventilation systems for major underground transport infrastructure projects, including those in mining, construction, and long-term operations. The Project Manager will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team and will oversee and coordinate all projects, working closely with contractors at our office in West Virginia.
Tasks & Responsibilities
With recent project wins, we are looking for an additional resource with project management experience to work alongside senior management. Tasks include:
- Leading and managing complex projects involving personnel from various disciplines.
- Maintaining close relations with different contractors working on our clients’ projects.
- Developing and managing detailed project scopes of work and project capital budgets.
- Estimating, planning, scheduling, and coordinating projects under your control.
- Problem-solving in field service and support issues with the engineering and production teams.
- Developing field support procedures as necessary.
- Procuring components where necessary and managing project cost control.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, mining, or electrical disciplines.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ventilation systems, fans, and relevant industry standards.
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience, including 3 years in managing and delivering multi-disciplinary (mechanical, structural, electrical) projects.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, AutoCAD, design engineering software, and Microsoft Project.
- Project Management: Demonstrated skills in contract management, planning, cost control, and financial management.
- Project Execution: Previous experience managing projects both in the office and on-site.
- Problem-Solving: High-level problem-solving skills and innovative technical solutions.
- Coordination: Strong coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Time Management: Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Initiative: Highly self-motivated with strong initiative.
- Analytical Skills: Strong observational and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Legal Requirements: The right to work in the United States.
- Driving License: Valid driver's license.
