Metal Finisher

ZLA Solutions is looking to hire Metal Finishers for a fabrication client in Madison, AL.

Pay Rate and Schedule

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (some overtime as needed)

Job Responsibilities

• Associates will finish products by grinding, deburring, filing, sanding, and polishing to the quality level required.
• Associates will inspect product surfaces for defects and repair as applicable.
• Associates will clean the work area and equipment as needed prior to end of their shift.
• Associates will present a quality first article part for inspection by Quality Control prior to sign off.

Job Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred but will train eager individuals with an attention for detail
• Previous metal finishing experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to use finishing equipment (dual action orbital sander, tumbler, files, etc.)
• Must be able to work with various materials, including carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel
• Must be willing to learn other aspects of manufacturing so as to be versatile
• Must be willing to take direction on performing required task and then carry out the action to completion
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Must be able to lift and carry 10-15 lbs. constantly, up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Must be able to work a manufacturing environment where exposure to a number of weather related elements may occur.
