Inventory Planner

Role Description

This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and the primary function of this position is to provide support and planning for the Inventory functions within the GMS Biodevice Supply Chain. The Inventory Planner will work in coordination with Supply Chain Operations, Inventory and Logistics colleagues to develop inventory part requirements, safety stock levels and metric tracking. He/She is responsible for managing the inventory control functions and will be the key point of contact for any inventory discrepancies or system issues that may arise. This position will work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement and other organizations across Zoetis to implement best practices in inventory management, planning and inventory control. The candidate must possess flexibility and agility to respond to constantly changing conditions and priorities.

• Drive initiatives to continually improve processes, inventory levels and performance to optimize operational costs through all stages of the biodevice supply chain process
• Understand the financial impact of supply chain activities in relation to the overall site objectives and goals and identify opportunities of improvement
• Develops, maintains and communicates inventory metrics and KPIs relative to supply, demand, inventory, material scheduling and production
• Leads and support SAP inventory reconciliations including wall to wall inventory cycle counts as required
• Manages inventories of purchased materials, assuring levels are maintained within the site's objectives
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies to optimize accuracy and efficiency
• Lead parts review team to identify and analyze distressed inventories for materials (e.g., damaged, scrapped, slow moving, FIFO, obsolete)
• Participate in device planning meetings to develop work plans for inventory colleagues to meet the demands of device manufacturing schedule
• Responsible for the planning of materials and production, providing resources and materials according to pre-established demand
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Inventory, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement and Quality
• Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) & work instructions (WI)
• Lead, participate and implement various improvement projects
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of colleagues and management across organizational boundaries.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Planning or equivalent experience with 3-5 years of Inventory Control/Supply Chain experience in a fast-paced global inventory / service parts operation
• Experience with SAP
• Highest personal and professional standards of conduct
• Ability to effectively communicate to internal customers and external suppliers verbally and in writing
• Experience in all Microsoft office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Visio

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• Strong knowledge and practical experience of supply chain concepts including but not limited to warehousing, inventory, planning and material scheduling
• SAP system experience
• Ability to conceptualize, analyze and implement new methodologies in support of improving customer service, inventory management, and business alignment
• Ability to function and influence in a team matrix environment and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in utilizing analytical tools, spreadsheets and databases to develop reports for strategic planning and communication

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Work environment is in an office cubicle and parts inventory environment. This position will require standing and lifting (up to 25lbs) throughout the day.
