Job Description
Primary contributions will include but not limited to the management of the accounting and financial reporting of stock-based compensation, forecast of stock-based compensation, computation of earnings per share, forecast of share count, equity related schedules for statutory audits, and support on the research of various technical accounting matters, as needed, ensuring integrity and completeness of external financial reporting.
This person will have strong technical accounting and research skills, strong communication skills, be detailed oriented and hands-on, enjoy working in a team/collaborative environment, strong time management skills to manage deadlines timely, and the ability to work under pressure and have some flexibility during peak days of the financial reporting cycle.
Primary Responsibilities
· Management of the quarterly and annual accounting close process for stock-based compensation awards (i.e., stock options, RSUs, ESSP, performance stock awards), including preparation of journal entries, and period-end reconciliations
· Preparation of the quarterly activity of the consolidated stockholders’ equity
· Preparation of basic and fully diluted earnings per share calculation on a GAAP and non-GAAP basis
· Lead the preparation of the forecast of stock-based compensation expense and the forecast of share count on a fully diluted basis, and act as a liaison between various groups involved (i.e., FP&A, HR, Tax)
· Support on the application and interpretation of ASC 718, Stock Compensation, technical accounting research, and the preparation of related technical accounting memos
· Support the tax team with the preparation of equity related schedules required for statutory audits
· Support the SEC financial reporting process with the preparation of financial statements and related notes to the consolidated financial statements (i.e., consolidated stockholders’ equity, stock-based compensation, earnings per share)
· Completion of related sections of the quarterly/annual disclosure checklists and tie-out of related sections in the Forms 10Ks/10Qs filed with the Security Exchange Commission
· Preparation of related information requests from external auditors (quarterly review, annual audit, and SOX)
· Monitoring compliance of related SOX controls and review/update SOX narratives and controls
· Assistance with the drafting and/or updating of related company policies
·Support and ad-hoc projects associated with technical accounting and financial reporting
Qualifications
Qualifications
3-5 years of combined public accounting experience (ideally with Big Four accounting firm) and industry (ideally in the technology space)
Certified Public Accountant
Personal Skills
Highly interested and passionate for development an expertise in stock-based compensation and various other technical accounting and financial reporting matters
Strong ability to follow through the quarterly calendar deliverables, provide ongoing status updates and work on a collaborative/team environment
High attention to detail with a “details-do-matter” in the preparation of the financial statements
Advocate for continuous process improvement, maximizing leverage from technology tools
Strong “I-can-do-it” attitude is essential to take on new and challenging assignments
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Strong team-player with ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well with individual independent responsibilities
