What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Driver position at ZTEX Construction?
ZTEX Construction is a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthwork, concrete, asphalt paving, underground utilities and overall project management. We are locally owned, and we are currently looking for Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, energetic, proactive, willing to learn and grow with the company, and overall be a team player.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Loading and unloading goods and materials to/from the warehouse onto the vehicle to and from job sites or different locations.
- Verifying Orders and receiving raw materials.
- Ensure that all goods and materials are properly secured during driving.
- Using a forklift or pallet jack to load the truck with the correct order, and then safely unloading the goods at the delivery location.
- Keeping accurate records of orders received and documenting the quantity and quality of inventory.
- Safely driving the truck to delivery locations while following traffic laws and ensuring the vehicle has enough gas.
- Ensuring that all goods and materials are properly secured during transport
- Inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues and reporting any problems to the supervisor.
- Coordinating delivery and pickup schedules with the operations manager.
- Assisting with warehouse duties as needed, such as packing, organizing cleaning and unpacking goods and materials. Maintains established safety standards; ensures a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Instructs line personnel in matters pertaining to vehicle maintenance; assists in identifying and delivering solutions that prepare line personnel and the fleet for a state of readiness.
- Performs data entry duties related to repair activities such as task/time accounting, parts use and equipment status, documents mechanical issue diagnosis and repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge in coordinating delivery and pickup schedules
- Knowledge of principles and methods for transporting and securing equipment from site to site.
- Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations.
- Ability to organize and maintain a warehouse.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to observe all traffic regulations.
- Have a positive attitude, team player and strongly committed to safety.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment
Education, Training and Experience:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)- Class B and clean driving record.
- Forklift Certification
- Experience operating a variety of vehicles, including vans and trucks
- Experience in managing warehouse
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Follow all Safety Regulations and TxDOT requirements.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
- Able to bend, stoop. climb, repeatedly throughout the day.
- Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
- Able to drive on rough, rocky or uneven surfaces at construction sites.
- Medium/heavy - exert force of 50-100 lbs., occasionally; 25-50 lbs., frequently; or 10-20 lbs., constantly.
- Frequent talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, crouching, reaching, handling, repetitive fine motor activities, and feeling.
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person, via video conference and computers, or over the telephone.
- Mobility to work in a typical warehouse environment.
- Vision: Frequent near acuity, depth perception, and color vision.
Environmental Conditions:
Varies from a climate-controlled office setting to work in an open garage/warehouse with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud for occasional to frequent time periods.
Additional Qualifying Factors
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical screening. If applicable to the contract, you may also be required to submit through a background check. Must have reliable transportation to/from work, must have a valid driver's license at time of application.
