IT Advisory Solution Architect

Zurich is currently looking for an IT Advisory Solutions Architect to work in the Zurich North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

As an IT Advisory Solutions Architect some of the daily responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Application Design & Development – Proficiency Level – High
• Hands on experience in .NET Core / C# / .NET Framework / ASP.NET / MVC / WCF based application Development
• Hands on experience in Angular or React JS , HTML5, jQuery
• Hands on experience in Azure based implementations and Azure Dev Ops
• Hands on experience in developing REST API and Service Oriented Architecture
• Experience in SQL programming
• Experience delivering large, highly complex IT programs as a Tech Lead / Tech Architect
• Experience working in Agile based project methodology
• Strong analytical and triage skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred certifications – Azure Architecture, MCP
• Functional and or technical knowledge of Commercial insurance industry business processes
• Contribute to the delivery of assigned IT application or program work stream for specific vertical lines of business by collaborating with IT contacts on approach for project / program involvement.
• Maintain understanding of the functionality and use of the IT application portfolio for specific vertical lines of business.
• Within a program, take direction from more senior program solution Architect or from Enterprise / functional architects in smaller projects.
• Independently perform or execute given solution design assignments capable to implement E2E processes.
• Utilize the group operations and technology governance process, to provide architectural design approval and ensure that the IT architectural standards and practices are followed through project and program involvement.
• Provide consultation for multiple areas of technology to project efforts within various IT areas and/or external service providers.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT enterprise architecture, standards and practices by maintaining understanding of current and future technology developments.
• Provide formal and informal leadership and direction to other architects.
• Design and document solutions required to meet business needs and automate business processes/activities.
• Understand and evaluate multiple platforms, software packages, and custom components to design the solution.
• Support the development of business cases.
• Participate in technology evaluations

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area
  OR
• Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area

Preferred Qualifications:

• Insurance Industry Experience
