What are the duties of a metrologist?

As a metrologist, your primary responsibility is to calibrate equipment and develop testing methods to ensure accurate measurements in scientific, laboratory, or technical environments. You may also be involved in developing, testing, or auditing maintenance methods for measurement instrumentation, using statistics, math, physics, or laboratory sciences to analyze and recommend improvements to current measurement procedures. Additionally, you may be required to document calibration standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
