A broker and a salesperson serve different roles in the real estate industry, each with distinct responsibilities and qualifications. To elaborate, a broker is a licensed professional who has undergone more extensive education and training compared to a salesperson. Brokers can operate their own real estate businesses, hire salespeople, and are responsible for overseeing transactions to ensure they comply with legal and ethical standards. On the other hand, a salesperson, also known as a real estate agent, works under the supervision of a broker. Salespeople assist clients in buying, selling, or renting properties but do not have the authority to operate independently or manage other agents. In summary, while both brokers and salespeople are integral to the real estate market, brokers have more advanced qualifications and greater responsibilities, including the ability to run their own firms and supervise salespeople. Salespeople, meanwhile, focus on client interactions and property transactions under the guidance of a broker.
