A lobbyist works with a company or organization to represent its interests with elected officials on the national and state levels. Many groups, including large businesses, unions, and special interest organizations, will use a lobbyist or lobbyists in order to promote their interests in the government. A lobbyist’s job is to get favorable consideration by officials by meeting with them on behalf of the organization and to persuade them to vote certain ways in elections.
