The Vanguard Group, Inc. owns 8.8% of PepsiCo‘s outstanding shares. The soda Pepsi was created by Caleb Bradham in 1898 and in 1902, he registered a patent for his recipe and founded the Pepsi-Cola Company. In 1923, the company‘s trademark and recipe were bought by Craven Holding Corporation. In 1931, Roy Megargel and Charles Guth purchased the Pepsi trademark and business from Craven Holding Company. Loft Inc. absorbed the company after a lawsuit in 1941. PepsiCo acquired Pepsi Bottling Group and PepsiAmericas for $7 billion in 2010. In 2020, PepsiCo had annual revenue of $70.37 billion.
