Responsibilities and duties of this position include: Provide assistance to the Building Official in the general administration of the Code Enforcement Department. Assist with the implementation of regulatory requirements pertaining to permitting, plan review, enforcement and inspection of projects indicating compliance with life safety and fire prevention codes as required by State Law, State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), Florida Fire Prevention Code, and Florida Building Code. Assist in scheduling inspections. Perform Florida Fire Prevention Code Compliance inspections including fire, safety, casualty, and sanitation on all school district properties and portables as appropriately certified by the state. Develop and maintain the required records and database entry on all inspections. Perform annual fire safety inspections per F.S. 1013.12. Perform other duties as directed by the Building Official.
