Maintains knowledge of and supports processes and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Maintains the general ledger including setting up new general ledger accounts, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting in the month-end close. Prepares month-end closing entries for the recording of all cost accounting entries and general ledger adjusting entries. Reconciles payroll, intercompany, prepaids, accruals, and other financial accounts, as necessary. Reconciles bank accounts, verifies bank activity as necessary, and addresses inquiries from banks. Verifies accuracy of accounts payable expenses recorded in the general ledger and ensures purchases are charged to the appropriate accounts.
