The Blue Stars are kicking off an End-of-Year Capital Campaign to raise funds for two new vans for our fleet. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this campaign a success and honor one of our most cherished volunteers. Please DONATE today to help us raise the funds to purchase these vehicles. Gary Tollers was a long-time member of our board of directors, our volunteer coordinator, souvenir merchandise manager, and super volunteer in his own right. Sadly, Gary passed away last summer while on the summer tour with the corps. Safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation for our volunteers and staff was something about which Gary was passionate. In honor of Gary's commitment and dedication to the Blue Stars and the volunteers who make it happen, we are naming these vehicles in his honor. To jump start the campaign and give it momentum, Sue Tollers (Super Volunteer and Gary's wife), Heather Tollers (Blue Stars Director of Events and Gary's daughter), Charlie Cullen (Board Member, volunteer, and Blue Stars Alumnus), and Tom Volk (long-time volunteer and Volk's Wagon namesake) have agreed to match donations received between now and December 31, 2016. Please help us take full advantage of their generosity and raise the funds necessary to buy these vehicles! Both vans serve critical needs to make the summer tour a positive experience for our members, volunteers, and staff. They combine to haul our souvenir and prop trailers; transport volunteers and staff members; make runs to grocery stores, clinics, and transportation hubs; and lead the fleet to housing sites for early check in and set up. Holiday Season is a time of giving, and there is no better way than to give to a cherished non-profit organization like the Blue Stars. Please DONATE today to help us buy these needed vehicles. You can also Text "Fleet" to 91999 to make a donation on your mobile device.
