Job Description: The Electrical Commissioning Specialist (ECM) will be the single point of responsibility for all equipment energizations in the Construction Zone (CZ). The ECM is a General Contractor’s (GC) identified competent individual who is responsible for coordinating, implementing and managing adherence to the GC’s Electrical Safety Plan, the customer/subcontractor pre-energization procedures, and the equipment manufacturer requirements. The ECM has sole responsibility in authorizing activities associated with first time energizations, working on energized equipment, or re-entry into equipment that has been previously energized. The ECM’s purpose is to create and maintain a safe workspace for all employees and protect equipment from damage.
