Established in 2013. Our vision is to keep church simple. Life is busy and complicated and we believe church should be a refuge from the craziness of life in the 21st century. We have four areas of focus:: love, reach, disciple and lead. Our strategy is centered on our four core values:: 1. Community Groups - we are not a church with small groups but a church of small groups. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where relationships can grow that brings true-life change. 2. Weekend Services- Every weekend it is our goal to present God's love as clearly as possible. We as the church possess the greatest life giving truth on the planet. We desire to freely give the message of life and love to our community and world. 3. Connection Point - Through Connection Point we desire to build up and equip believers to flourish in their everyday life. The three-hour course is the launch pad for discipleship that builds every believer. It takes place on Sunday evenings at 5pm every 6 weeks. 4. Point Team - The Point team is the heart and soul of City Point. It is where we work together to make the world a little better. Pastor Eddie and Julie dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal - helping people connect with God so that they might live life to the fullest. With the help of the Launch team, 42 people committed to seeing this dream become a reality, City Point Church began on Janu¬ary 13, 2013. Our first service took place at the Cinemark Theater in Plano. We relocated to Allen in June of 2013.

The term is considered[by whom?] inclusive of distinctly non-religious forms of support as well as of those from religious communities. Humanist groups, which act on behalf of non-religious people, have developed pastoral care offerings in response to growing demand for the provision of like-minded support from populations undergoing rapid secularisation, such as the UK. Humanists UK for example manages the Non-Religious Pastoral Support Network, a network of trained and accredited volunteers who operate throughout prisons, hospitals, and universities in the UK. The terms pastoral care and pastoral support are preferred because these sound less religious than terms such as chaplaincy. Surveys have shown that more than two thirds of patients support non-religious pastoral care being available in British institutions. Similar offerings are available from humanist groups around Europe and North America.
