The Position: An entry level Research Technician position is available in the laboratory of Physician Scientist Dr. David Miyamoto in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research. Under the supervision of the PI, the candidate will assist in molecular and translational research studies towards the development of novel blood-based and tissue-based biomarkers to help guide the clinical management of cancer patients. A particular focus is on the molecular analysis of rare circulating tumor cells isolated from blood using a novel microfluidic device. These duties include performing laboratory experiments, collection of data and accurate recording of procedures and results, maintenance of databases, ordering necessary reagents to conduct experiments, and participation in joint upkeep of the lab.
