Core Construction Company, a corporation formed on March 26, 2003, is owned and operated by Jay Chung AIA, President. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne in the Architecture program, Mr. Chung first obtained an Architectural License from State of Wisconsin & Illinois and later a Certified General Contractor License from Florida. Mr. Chung has held key positions working for various developers, architects, contractors and design-build firms in the Chicago area managing projects all over U.S. and Canada with projects ranging up to 20 million dollars before being recruited as the Director of Construction by a design-build firm in Jacksonville, FL in 2002. A year later, he started his own Commercial Construction G.C. Company in Jacksonville with the wealth of his thirty plus years of invaluable experiences and has rapidly grown since the company was established working on major local and state municipal and institutional projects. Core Construction Company has successfully completed projects for several major local entities, including the City of Jacksonville, Florida State College at Jacksonville, University of North Florida, the Department of Military Affairs, the City of St. Augustine, and St. Johns County BOCC. We are dedicated to creating quality experiences and taking pride in a hands-on approach. In addition, we are MBE certified with the State of Florida, as well as with the City of Jacksonville.
