In 1979, he started writing his award winning monthly newsletter "The Inside View. Two years later I (Van Simmons) came on board as his business partner, and we've been in business together ever since! Both David and I are avid collectors of many things (baseball cards, antique firearms, old knives, American Indian rugs and baskets, Tiffany lamps, art glass, U.S. and English pottery, Indian peace medals, and, last but not least, rare U.S. coins). We both started as kids and still haven't stopped. The point I'm making is, we both understand the collectible markets about as well as anyone. In 1986, we created a company that changed the rare coin market forever. We called it Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Over the last 30 years we have graded and authenticated over 30 million coins with a declared value of over $30 billion. We currently have over 1300 authorized coin dealers worldwide who sell our product and hundreds of others who may not be authorized dealers, but sell coins graded by PCGS as well. Certain coins have more potential than others. And these are the province of DHRC. On a grading scale of 1 to 70, with 70 being flawless, DHRC deals primarily in gem quality coins graded MS65 or higher by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), the world's leading third-party coin grading service. The reason is simple. The higher the quality, the more desirable the coin, and the greater the buyer interest. These are the coins that typically sell first, set pricing records, and inspire the most heated bidding at auctions. Coins graded MS65 and higher comprise no more than 5% to 10% of the entire population of graded coins and historically have increased in price two and three times as much as coins of lesser grades. What separates DHRC from all other rare coin dealers are the innovations we have introduced to the industry. Virtually all the major market developments during the past 30 years have originated with David Hall Rare Coins, including grading guarantees, daily cash buy/sell markets, and ...
