Process Purchases · Front end cashiers process all purchases by scanning the items, bagging them if requested, and taking the final payment. Depending on the business, they may be required to check identification for age-restricted products, such as alcohol or tobacco. Process Exchanges or Returns · If a customer is unhappy with the quality of the item they bought, front end cashiers need to assess whether the purchase is eligible for a return and process the exchange or refund accordingly.
