The firm now known as Duxstad & Bestul, S.C., dates back thirty-five years. In 1978, Governor Schreiber appointed Bob Duxstad, a recent law student graduate, as the Green County District Attorney. In those days, the District Attorney was permitted to have a part-time private law practice. After gaining invaluable trial experience as DA for four and a half years, Bob decided to expand his private law practice to fulltime in 1983. Due to increasing client demands, Dan Bestul was asked to join the firm as an associate in 1987 and became a partner in 1988. The firm opened its Darlington office in Lafayette County the following year. In 2010, attorney Alicia Augsburger joined the firm. In 2011, Steven J. Harverty became of counsel to the firm. Over the years, the firm's attorneys, together with its well-trained support staff, have created an atmosphere of collegiality, teamwork and professionalism in their service to clients. The shareholders have over seventy years of combined legal experience in both the state and federal court system.
