The goal with the East Haddam Stage Company is to offer the public an intriguing, thoughtful and provocative theatrical experience. EHSCO was launched in 2002 with a production of A.R. Gurney's 'Love Letters'. Since then the company has presented 'Pictures at an American Exhibition' by Rick Balian; 'Plays With Poetry' which combined national 10 minute plays with works by CT poets; and in 2006 Ms Carle wrote and directed the company's ongoing one-woman touring play 'They Called Me Lizzy...from Slavery to the White House' based on the life of Elizabeth Keckly, Mary Todd Lincoln's dressmaker and confidante. In November of 2007 EHSCO produced 'Flights of Fancy' by CT playwright Suzanne Wingrove, in 2008 a new production of 'Plays and Poetry' performed at the East Haddam Historical Society and at the Marlborough Arts Center as well as the Capitol Theater in Willimantic CT. In 2009 and 2010 EHSCO produced CT native William Gillette's comedy 'All the Comforts of Home' for Gillette Castle State Park and the East Haddam Historical Society. The now bi-annual 'Plays and Poetry' returned in November of 2010 and next is a third season of 'All the Comforts of Home' at Gillette Castle State Park, June 18- August 7, 2011.
