We are the Church, the Body of Christ, and as such, participating is one important way that we serve to take up our cross and walk with Jesus Christ. We each have a part to play, a gift to offer, a function to perform, a prayer to offer, a presence to bring. Presently, our Stewardship Committee is asking us all to participate in the Body of Christ through the gifts that we have to bring. We need everyone's participation in order for our work for Christ to be effective. The gifts we have to bring provide the foundation upon which we build our community of faith, prepare to welcome others, and make it possible to go out into the world in service. What they are asking of us is simple and straightforward: participate. First, we need every member of our body to respond to the Stewardship Appeal for the coming year. It is my prayer that we will be moved to walk with Jesus in every way we can, and that we will want to be part of the life-blood of God's work here in our giving. We need to hear from every part of Centre Church's Body in order to make for effective ministry this coming year. The second thing we need is Five-percent (5%): We need to increase our overall giving receipts by five percent. This means that we need everyone to do the best they can, but also, to go beyond what has felt comfortable in the past, to a more challenging level of giving now and in the future. And the third and most important thing that we need is for us to continue to be together in worship and service. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing each other, in being together, in offering our presence. When a wedding invitation comes to us, we mark our calendar, we return the response card, and make certain we are there in support of the couple who have pledged themselves to each other. We make sure we attend the ceremony and reception. Our presence at that special day is the thing! When there is a baptism we also make sure that our presence at the ceremony and celebration is the thing. Being seen is a blessing. Yesterday, at ...

What Skills Does a person Need at First Congregational Church Ucc?

At First Congregational Church Ucc, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Leadership: Knowledge of and ability to employ effective strategies that motivate and guide other members within our business to achieve optimum results.
  2. Collaboration: Works cooperatively and shares ideas with coworkers and managers to achieve common goals and objectives.
  3. Pastoral Care: Pastoral care is an ancient model of emotional and spiritual support that can be found in all cultures and traditions. The term is considered[by whom?] inclusive of distinctly non-religious forms of support as well as of those from religious communities. Humanist groups, which act on behalf of non-religious people, have developed pastoral care offerings in response to growing demand for the provision of like-minded support from populations undergoing rapid secularisation, such as the UK. Humanists UK for example manages the Non-Religious Pastoral Support Network, a network of trained and accredited volunteers who operate throughout prisons, hospitals, and universities in the UK. The terms pastoral care and pastoral support are preferred because these sound less religious than terms such as chaplaincy. Surveys have shown that more than two thirds of patients support non-religious pastoral care being available in British institutions. Similar offerings are available from humanist groups around Europe and North America.
  4. Professional development: Professional development refers to continuing education and career training after a person has entered the workforce in order to help them develop new skills, stay up-to-date on current trends, and advance their career.
  5. Planning: An act or process of making or carrying out plans. Establishment of goals, policies, and procedures for a social or economic unit city planning business planning.
