INTRODUCTION Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician is primarily responsible for providing a full range of technical support duties in the pharmacy. MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares prescriptions by counting the exact number of dosages to be dispensed. Prepares unit dose medications. Prepares watch-take medications. Refers doctor's calls and customer medical questions to the Pharmacist. Implements inventory control, procedures and ordering stock within regulatory guidelines under the direction of the Pharmacist. Performs regular checks for expired medications. Delivers medications to the inmates. Provides technical assistance to the Pharmacy.
