About GRSD Sewer Authority
The Galien River Sanitary District (GRSD) was formed in 1977 to serve the City of New Buffalo, New Buffalo Township, and Chikaming Township. Lake Charter Township joined a few years later. The Wastewater Plant has been upgraded twice since then, initially in 1996 and again in 2003. About that same time, the City of Bridgman joined and the GRSD became a Sewer Authority.
