Job Description Job Description COMPASS HOUSE JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Maintenance Worker Summary of Duties: The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the general upkeep of the building, including the surrounding grounds and all delegated duties. Accountability: The Maintenance Worker is responsible to the Shelter Director. Responsibilities and Examples of Work: Painting walls and ceilings. Cleaning bathrooms. Washing walls and floors. Cutting the lawn in the summer/shoveling snow in the winter. Minor repairs. Purchase of household supplies. Moving furniture. Requires use of an automobile to pick up supplies. Stocking Resource Center emergency food pantry. Weekly cleaning of Resource Center lounge, foyer and group meeting room as well as bathrooms and kitchen. Also vacuuming and taking out the garbage. Other tasks as assigned by the Shelter Director. Qualifications: Good mechanical skills, painting experience, and good work planning and organizational skills.
