The Buyer oversees product acquisition for the hospital, conducting research, managing budgets, and maintaining the GHX dashboard for requisitions and purchase orders. They collaborate with departments, suppliers, and clinical staff to address product discrepancies, backorders, and inventory needs. Works with inventories to ensure proper stocking. Verifies contract pricing and resolves discrepancies with vendor to ensure proper invoicing. Supports and utilizes GPO contracts as the basis for product recommendations to the customers. Follows up daily on all open and backorders. Sets up new items and vendors in the item/vendor dictionary and communicates information to departments and Accounting. Works with the appropriate department and vendor to create, revise and maintain required items within the clinical CDS kits. Supports the Supply Chain Management (SCM) module.
