The Irish Chamber Orchestra is a world class orchestra, based in Limerick, renowned for its diversity, energy, its unique sound and outstanding musicianship. The orchestra was founded in 1963 by Jnos Fürst and re-branded in 1970 as the New Irish Chamber Orchestra under Principal Conductor, André Prieur. In 1995 the Irish Chamber Orchestra re-located to the University of Limerick and reverted back to its original Irish Chamber Orchestra (ICO) brand. It uniquely owns a custom built studio, on campus at the University of Limerick. The orchestra is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland/An Chomhairle Ealaon. Under Katherine Hunka's leadership, the Irish Chamber Orchestra has made Limerick its successful home. The orchestra offers a concert season in Limerick and Dublin (September - April) as well as two national tours annually. Following a succession of illustrious Artistic Directors including Fionnuala Hunt, Nicholas McGegan and Anthony Marwood, the orchestra appointed two artistic partners - Hungarian conductor Gbor Tkacs Nagy (Principal Artistic Partner) and clarinettist/composer Jörg Widmann (Principal Guest Conductor/Artistic Partner). With different styles, Gbor Tkacs Nagy (Principal Artistic Partner) closes out his Haydn cycle which visited land-mark chapters in the composer's life and some of his most influential symphonies. Jörg Widmann (Principal Conductor/Artistic Partner) continues his personal journey performing all the Mendelssohn symphonies alongside some of his most innovative compositions. The ICO has toured with success across Europe, Australia, South Korea, China and the US and demand for the orchestra's presence on the world stage has been altogether more fruitful, in recent times. International appearances for the ICO with Widmann began in Berlin in 2007 and since then he has been influential in opening doors for the orchestra across Europe. In 2011 the ICO appeared at De Singel, Blue Hall, Antwerp. In 2013, they performed at the prestigious Konzerthaus, Berlin and at the Heidelberg Frühling ...

A marketing communication tool can be anything from: advertising, personal selling, direct marketing, sponsorship, communication, and promotion to public relations. MC are made up of the marketing mix which is made up of 4P's: Price, Promotion, Place and Product, for a business selling goods, and made up of 7P's: Price, Promotion, Place, Product, People, Physical evidence and Process, for a service based business.

Public relations may include an organization or individual gaining exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct payment. This differentiates it from advertising as a form of marketing communications. Public relations is the idea of creating coverage for clients for free, rather than marketing or advertising. But now, advertising is also a part of greater PR Activities. An example of good public relations would be generating an article featuring a client, rather than paying for the client to be advertised next to the article. The aim of public relations is to inform the public, prospective customers, investors, partners, employees, and other stakeholders and ultimately persuade them to maintain a positive or favorable view about the organization, its leadership, products, or political decisions. Public relations professionals typically work for PR and marketing firms, businesses and companies, government, and public officials as PIOs and nongovernmental organizations, and nonprofit organizations. Jobs central to public relations include account coordinator, account executive, account supervisor, and media relations manager.
  3. Initiative: Taking decisive action and initiating plans independently to address problems, improve professional life, and achieve goals.
  4. Advertising: Advertising is a marketing communication that employs an openly sponsored, non-personal message to promote or sell a product, service or idea.:465 Sponsors of advertising are typically businesses wishing to promote their products or services. Advertising is differentiated from public relations in that an advertiser pays for and has control over the message. It differs from personal selling in that the message is non-personal, i.e., not directed to a particular individual.:661,672 Advertising is communicated through various mass media, including traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, outdoor advertising or direct mail; and new media such as search results, blogs, social media, websites or text messages. The actual presentation of the message in a medium is referred to as an advertisement, or "ad" or advert for short. Commercial ads often seek to generate increased consumption of their products or services through "branding", which associates a product name or image with certain qualities in the minds of consumers. On the other hand, ads that intend to elicit an immediate sale are known as direct-response advertising. Non-commercial entities that advertise more than consumer products or services include political parties, interest groups, religious organizations and governmental agencies. Non-profit organizations may use free modes of persuasion, such as a public service announcement. Advertising may also help to reassure employees or shareholders that a company is viable or successful.
  5. Leadership: Knowledge of and ability to employ effective strategies that motivate and guide other members within our business to achieve optimum results.
