The KCKHA Finance Department is located in the Administrative Offices building located at 1124 North 9th (between State Avenue and Washington Blvd). The payment window for making rent payments can be easily accessed through the newly-installed south entrance to the building. The KCKHA Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial management of the agency. Finance Department operations include cash receipts, cash disbursements, Section 8 HAP disbursements, accounts payable, payroll, investment management, budget preparation and monitoring, maintenance of internal control system, and financial reporting. The Finance Department also serves as the control center for the Management Information Systems operations of the KCKHA. All financial activity from the various KCKHA departments and divisions flows through the Finance Department. With most of the KCKHA's programs being federally funded, the Finance Department is also responsible for monitoring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. The KCKHA must meet specific financial reporting requirements for each grant received. Like all public housing authorities, the KCKHA is required to obtain an annual independent audit (IA) that is conducted in accordance with the Office of Management and Budget Circular A-128, Audits of State and Local Governments. This circular requires that the IA examine the internal control structure of the KCKHA and KCKHA's compliance with federal laws and regulations, in addition to the financial records of the KCKHA. The KCKHA is proud to report that it's most recent audit, like most of its preceding audits, contained no audit findings, and all have received unqualified audit opinions by the auditors.
