Lindley Food Service was founded in 1982 on Lindley Street in Bridgeport, CT, by its' co-owners, Gilbert Rossomando, and Mark Cerreta. After both graduating from the University of New haven in 1980 with degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management, they started as caterers but quickly realized there was a need for quality meals on the institutional side. Today, Lindley Food Service specializes in the fresh preparation, production and delivery of bulk and pre-plated meals for Senior Nutrition Programs , School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, Head Start Programs and Summer Feeding Programs. Their production facilities vary from 4,000 to 23,000 square feet and typically include a full compliment of production, cooking and packing equipment. Each Lindley facility is manned by a General Manager, Chef/Manager, line cooks, a production supervisor, food handlers, utility personnel, a shipping coordinator, drivers and office staff. Lindley Food Service produces nutritionally sound meals in each of its food production facilities. Corporate support is provided daily and includes direction from the corporate Chef, our Nutrition Compliance Director, Human Resources, Accounting and Payroll departments. The General Manager of each food production facility reports to either Mr. Rossomando or Mr. Cerreta. Lindley Food Service presently employs over 225 people in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Indiana and has made a solid commitment to the cities and states in which they hold a vested interest. We currently produce approximately six to eight million meals annually. Lindley Food Service is a financially sound and innovative food service company and has earned an excellent reputation over the years for being flexible, knowing that each customer has different needs. We pride ourselves on building long term relationships by providing quality, nutritious meals at reasonable prices.
