LPC's Operations Manager Tarcisio Gallo delivers high quality landscaping maintenance through ongoing training sessions of the staff of over 100 employees. Tarcisio Gallo has been with LPC Landscape and Irrigation since June of 2005. He is responsible for the hiring and training of the staff. Prior to joining LPC, he was a golf course superintendent in Oxnard, where he worked his way up from an general labor position to upper management. Tarcisio is dedicated to LPC and to the staff of over 100 who make up team LPC. We sat down with Tarcisio in mid- January of this year. Q- As Operations Manager, how do you see the industry changing? What are some of the challenges you face? A- Since the economy has taken a negative turn, many of our clients need to cut back. There is a lot more competition in the area, as well. We keep our clients happy because of the great job we do and great service we provide. I treat all jobs, big or small, the same. My priority is to deliver high quality landscape maintenance to our clients through ongoing training of the staff. Operationally, I make it a point of ensuring that we follow through on all work requests, and we are always available to our clients to ensure their satisfaction. I do this with the help of many great supervisors. Q- What do you look for in an employee? What does your training program consist of? A- I think that if someone is willing to do the work, they are trainable. However, I look beyond that. I try to find individuals who are responsible, motivated, show good character, and are willing to put customer service above all else. We have a training video to teach our company's procedures and the LPC philosophy. There are six main training modules that they go through. In the first 90 days, an employee is hired on a probationary period. They have temporary uniforms and work alongside senior employees. We also have ongoing training for all employees, which includes safety, proper use of equipment and review of the company's policies.
