MACC was one of the first truly consolidated dispatch centers in Washington. Through an Interlocal Agreement, MACC was established for the purpose of providing a consolidated public service 9-1-1 Dispatching center. In April of 1994 Grant County submitted their E9-1-1 Plan to the State of Washington and in 1995 an Interlocal Agreement was signed creating the Multi Agency Communications Center. MACC countywide E9-1-1 and emergency dispatching operations began January 15, 1997. The consolidation of county dispatch and 9-1-1 services was viewed as a clear benefit to the citizens of the county. By coming together it allows all emergency telephone calls to answered in a central location and all police, fire and emergency medical services to be handled by a single agency. MACC operates 24 hours per day, and 7 days per week to answer both E9-1-1 and non emergency calls from the public, and ensuring an appropriate level of response is sent for assistance.
