Menergy - originally Project RAP (Reduce Abuses of Power) - was founded in 1984 as a program of Family Services of Philadelphia. Our founder, Paul Bukovec, created Project RAP in close consultation with regional domestic violence survivors' advocates. In 1994, Menergy was reestablished as an independent treatment program and has steadily grown to include training and consultation programs, services for Spanish speaking clients and contracts that allow us to serve people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. In 2013, longtime Menergy therapists Carrie Askin & Tony Lapp took over the program, seeking to further expand services and locations. In 2016, Menergy began accepting private insurance and established a general therapy program informed by our longtime work with male clients. Our services continue to expand and evolve upon the foundation of what we do best: identify and challenge harmful behavior in relationships for the sake of lasting change and peace.
