Description This position is responsible to support the City of Merriam's mission by promoting public improvement through creating and administering capital projects. This position will ensure project quality, monitor project progress, will develop effective contractor relationships, and will manage general construction sites. Essential Functions Responsible for project development, including cost estimating, scheduling, planning, risk assessment, and contracting of Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects Receives project design plans and reviews construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to assure compliance with design and construction standards and good engineering practices Manages CIP projects including project costs and budgets, payment of contractors, utility coordination, shop drawings, materials tickets Proactively manages projects to avoid or resolve issues between contract participants Manages construction contractor activities and progress to deliver project
