Mission East Dallas was established in 2002 to serve the health needs of eastern Dallas County. The organization was conceived from the vision and efforts of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, Lakeside Baptist Church, St. Pius X Catholic Church and Casa View Baptist Church, after the results of a survey taken in 1999 revealed that within a five mile radius 50,000 people were without health insurance.
