MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Under general direction, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible under direction of a physician for providing general medical care, preventative care and treatment to patients in one of the agency’s clinics. This includes diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow-up care. This individual attends to the patient’s need with the utmost patient care, compassion and understanding. This work is carried out in support of the mission. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of a physician based on assigned program. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. Records accurate medical histories, physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient’s condition.
